SPORTS MASSAGE

It’s all about connecting…

I never appreciated the power of touch until I qualified as a sports massage therapist.

There’s something special and very gratifying in working with clients to relieve tension, any ongoing aches or pains and in particular, certain injuries.

Having completed Level 4 in sports massage, I have learned the latest techniques which can be applied for different types of issues whether it be lower back ache from sitting too much, tension headaches or shin splints from lots of walking or running.

However, the one key to all successful massage is connecting with the client to build trust through two-way communication. This allows the client to relax which calms the nervous system and facilitate change to the soft tissue in question.

Opposite to popular belief, pain is not a requirement to achieving results from deep tissue massage.

Plus, I look at the person as a whole. I spend time assessing alignment, posture and movement. That way I can apply the best massage as well as advise on how my client can prevent further discomfort.

Using my role as a PT and massage therapist I am able to recommend stretches, strength work and other techniques such as foam rolling. All to empower my clients to look after their body in the best way possible.
